‘Pilot Project: Water For Life' 2016 NBOS Competition Winner

‘Pilot Project: Water For Life', a community water supply to Kampung Air Sungai Simpul, Sungai Jernih, Selama Perak has won the 2016 NBOS Competition under Civil Service Category. The announcement was made in a colorful event at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Friday evening 9th December 2016. The winner has received RM30,000 from the Secretary General of Treasury, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigal Abdullah. The winning team consists of Ms Izziantee Izzahan, Prof Ir Dr Mohd Nordin Adlan, Ms Noridayu Adnan and Prof Dr Hamidi Abdul Aziz. They were from Pejabat Daerah dan Tanah Selama (under Kelab PETANDA) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (under Water Security Cluster). The competition is divided into 3 categories: Civil Service, Social Entrepreneurship and For-Profit Business.


The competition was earlier held on 20th October 2016 at the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC), Persiaran APEC, Cyberjaya. Prior to that NBOS Service Design Program was held on 6th October 2016 at the Genovasi Malaysia Sdn Bhd., Redberry City, Petaling Jaya. The NBOS competition for civil service category was evaluated based on the ideas to improve civil service delivery system which can positively impact people’s lives. These include ideas that can be implemented nationwide rapidly, suggestion to ensure sustainability of the idea to improve civil service delivery and optimizing the cost to deploy the idea. The competition was organized by NBOS, MoF, National Strategy Unit and National Entrepreneurship Development Office in partnership with JPA, AIM, iM4U and MaGIC.
